Visual Series ：Random Café & Studio，2020

「水果哲学」是为食物与设计品牌Random Studio制作的系列概念照。

这次概念照中的大多数使用了家用打印机的扫描功能“拍摄”而成，灵感其实源于一次偶然事件。在扫描旅行证件时，意识到打印机移动光条扫描物体将光信号传送到CCD上生成图像的效果其实有点类似摄影史上的物影照片（Photogram）———排除相机作为成像媒介，在暗房里把实物直接摆放在相纸上感光，印出来1：1的物体影子。

当水果直接接触在扫描底版上，它的形态，软硬，实物上方的光线/光线变化，都随机影响着最终生成影像的效果。我制作了一些用于扫描拍摄的装备，包括背景板，反光镜片，半透玻璃等等，也在扫描影像的同时，通过光线构成不同的效果。

把西柚皮放在玻璃底板上压实，果皮慢慢弹起的过程中，投射在最终影像上便是融合了渐变轮廓边缘的虚化。打印机的灯条其实记录着时间的经过与物体的运动。另外与平时照相机拍摄很大的不同是，直接与玻璃板接触的地方扫描出来的影像是非常客观真实的，带有厚度的水果，反映到二维画面上便是不同层次的虚实。

古典的颜色与构图抽象化了我们日常熟悉的水果，而水果表皮清晰的质感则被打印机客观地捕捉下来，呈现出奇异的冲突感，抽象和现实的界限亦开始模糊。

"Fruit Philosophy" revolves around three fruits: pomegranate, grape, and grapefruit. It's a conceptual photo collection created for the food and design brand, Random Studio. Most of the photos were captured using the scan function of domestic printers, inspired by a random discovery. This scanning process is akin to the historical photographic technique called "photogram," where objects are placed on photosensitive paper in a darkroom, creating 1:1 prints without the use of a camera.
When fruits are placed directly on the scanner glass, their shapes, textures, and the play of light upon them result in unpredictable imaging outcomes. I designed various tools for scanning, including backdrops, reflective mirrors, and translucent glass. During the scanning process, I manipulated the lighting to achieve different effects.
For instance, when you firmly place a grapefruit peel on the scanner glass and then release it slowly, the final image displays a blend of evolving silhouettes and soft edges. The printer's light bar effectively records time and the object's movement. Unlike conventional photography with a camera, the part of the object in direct contact with the glass panel produces a highly objective and realistic image. Fruits with substantial thickness, when translated into two-dimensional images, offer a unique blend of imagination and reality.
